The Lawrence Suite
A new hotel bedroom and
function / conference room development has just been completed at Rogerthorpe
Manor.
The bedrooms are fully air conditioned with electric vibrating beds or feature beds, air baths,
luxury bathrooms, period furniture, phone / modem points, digital T.V. and all
the other luxury specification items.
The Lawrence ballroom is a brand
new ballroom and the existing Cawthorne ballroom has been totally refurbished
and refitted to the same specification and re-decorated / re-carpeted at the
same time. Each room is fully air conditioned, a plentiful supply of RCD
protected 13 amp plugs, phone, ISDN, modem points, latest intelligent disco lights,
video / computer projectors and sound system. A very expensive cherry veneer is
on the divider sliding wall. It is a first class building, fully compatible
with the existing grade two listed structure, with outside patio's and a large
conservatory, built in new yorkshire stone walls and roof with mullioned
windows and doors. Each ballroom has it's own car
park/entrance/lawn/toilets/bar/bridal suite and service points.
A
million pound investment that will attract a great deal more business over the
coming years in wedding and conference / exhibition terms. Bookings are already very busy and all our visitors who have seen the new
"look" and facilities are booking it up fast and furious.
The rose room
and oak restaurant have also been refurbished, re-decorated and recarpeted and
are both ideal for private dinner parties, meetings or corporate entertainment.
The kitchens have been extended and additionally equipped with a range of cold
storage rooms, high capacity ovens and servery equipment. A full range of
conference / sound & light and display equipment is available. The car
parks have been extended, grounds enhanced and the gardens further planted. The
entire roof of the original grade two listed buildings has been taken off,
repaired and refixed this year at a cost in excess of £50,000.
Rogerthorpe Manor, built in 1600, is safe for another 400 years.
This
is the second major development at Rogerthorpe Manor within two years. The
"Jacobean" pub was built in late 1997 at a cost of £250,000 and is now a
firm favourite in the locality for excellent pub food and traditional beers.
